| Ben has a B.Sc.F. (1999) from UNB, and a Masters in Forestry from U of T (2002).
Currently a Ph.D. candidate in U of T’s Faculty of Forestry, he is working on the classification of boreal forest stand structures using both ground-based and remote sensing (LiDAR) technologies.
Ben has worked as an inventory arborist/utility forester in California, a Forest Conservation Analyst for Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, a field coordinator and technician for several wildlife research projects, and as an auditor of industrial forestry operations in Ontario.
As a consultant Ben has led a variety of projects including field data collection, analysis and technical report writing. Ben has developed a Managed Forest Tax Incentive plan and has provided analysis and writing support for large-scale forest management plans.
Ben is also a Director on the Board of the Ontario Forestry Association.
