Projects and Services: Forest Management Plans

KBM has assisted in the preparation of numerous forest management plans for both private land holdings and Forest Management Areas.

Our planning support teams are built on a core of experienced senior consultants, with support from a skilled group of junior consultants, and collaborative efforts from outside specialists. This efficient blend of talent ensures the needs of our clients are met and is best illustrated by our work on the Millar Western Detailed Forest Management Plan:
LP SFMP (2006-20##)

KBM supported Louisiana-Pacific in the development of its Sustainable Forest Management Plan, with a team of specialists similar in scope and complexity to the Millar Western DFMP.

Millar Western DFMP (1997-2006)

KBM coordinated a team of sixty specialists in developing a Detailed Forest Management Plan for Millar Western Forest Products in Whitecourt, Alberta. The plan is unique in terms of its scope and the depth of analysis related to the effects of intensive forest management upon key indicators of biodiversity. KBM has worked with researchers across Canada to develop models that calculate habitat supply and landscape measures of biodiversity from timber supply forecasts.
